Tongue & Groove set out to reimagine engineered timber, and have built a reputation for the unmatched quality, strength, stability and character of finely engineered boards that are crafted from three layers of solid oak. This unique layered construction – the first in Australia – was developed by founder Richard Karsay.
“Every great design begins with a problem to solve, and Oblica was born from that simple yet profound realization; The fireplaces available in Australia were functional yet uninspired. They lacked the soul of good design and the technological excellence needed to elevate modern living.
Oblica set out to change that, driven by a vision to make fireplaces more than just appliances. They sought to create pieces that celebrate fire as the elemental heart of a home—a dance of light, heat, and life. At Oblica the fireplace is not a background fixture but as a piece of sculptural furniture, an anchor that grounds a room with warmth and purpose.
